Life MelLife Mel Hospital Study published in prestigious
Medical Oncology journal

Life Mel has been the subject of an important hospital study which examined the ability of Life Mel to help protect patients receiving cancer chemotherapy from a complication called neutropenia.

Neutropenia is a condition where some of the blood cells our bodies use to fight infections are reduced to very low levels. This can happen because the agents used to treat cancer may affect the bone marrow cells which produce blood cells. If the levels of the key blood cells become too low then we can be prone to infection from bacteria and fungi and have little resource to fight them off.

The study at the Sieff hospital in Israel looked at whether Life Mel could help prevent this, and the results were published in the journal of Medical Oncology. Although the results were good, the existing study is preliminary and further studies are in progress and planned to confirm the effect of Life Mel.

Further studies planned
Holywell Health Products regard the existing study as preliminary and are committed to further work. A larger study involving 60 patients undergoing chemotherapy has been started at Rambam Health Care Campus in Israel. This study will use a control group in order to give greater understanding of the effect of Life-Mel. The study is expected to report during 2008 and the outcome will be posted on this website when available.
